The Mission of the Ryder school counseling program is to provide equity and access to superior counseling services to all students at William H. Ryder Math and Science Elementary School. We will do this by developing a high- quality and developmentally appropriate counseling program that fosters student growth and success in academics, social/emotional and college and career development. In accordance with national, state and local district standards, the counseling program strives to help all students acquire the attitudes, skills, knowledge, mindsets and behaviors necessary to become excellent students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners that contribute positively in a diverse society. Through collaborative partnerships with school administration, staff, students, parents and supports within the community, the counseling program ensures the needs and goals of all students are addressed.
The Vision of the Ryder School Counseling program is guided by the school counselors commitment to establish a nurturing, student- centered environment where each student is able to develop into a productive, ethical, and contributing member of society. Every student will acquire the academic skills , career knowledge, and personal/social skills necessary to transition successfully into high school and reach their fullest potential as life long learners.
